Sales Engineering at FINBOURNE sits at the crossroad of Product, Sales and Engineering. We work directly with our clients, from small startup hedge funds to multi-national financial service providers, to build solutions to a range of business problems which enable them to extract the most value out of LUSID.


We are looking to hire a Sales Engineer to join our growing team; someone who is equally adept at explaining product features to clients, as well as creating reference implementations and software development kits in multiple programming languages. In this role you will have the opportunity to make key contributions to the future of the product and shape how our clients interact with LUSID.

Key responsibilities:


As part of the Sales Engineering team at FINBOURNE, you will be working alongside our Sales team to identify and onboard clients onto our LUSID product. You will be supporting the sales process by explaining the product to prospective clients, crafting solutions using LUSID, delivering technical content and training, as well as playing an active part in client RFPs and Proof of Concepts.


Our aim is to provide a world class client experience, therefore we are looking for a candidate who has a relentless focus on customer service and engineering quality. As part of the Sales Engineering team you will play a key role in building a community of LUSID users, provide excellent product support to our clients, and be an active participant in our open source communities.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working closely with and building relationships with clients, working in the financial services domain, as well as building technology-based solutions.

What skills, experience and qualifications we require:


You will need excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to be able to clearly define and articulate solutions with both technical and non-technical audiences. You will already be working in a client-facing role, ideally at a SaaS or financial services software company.


Recent experience of writing code (C#, Python or Java) is required, however we are willing to develop someone in this area to get them to the level required for the role. You will be working alongside highly experienced engineers who are happy to provide training for you on the job in any areas in which you require support. We want to bring onboard people who are genuinely excited about what we are doing and have the capability and willingness to grow and learn from their colleagues.


Experience of working in an financial services (e.g. Investment Banking, Asset Management) would be advantageous, but not essential.
