Financial Controller

As we continue to grow internationally, we are looking for a new member to join the Finance Team to take over responsibility for monthly reporting and operational finance.


We have recently set up US and Singaporean entities and with the support of our external advisors are also looking to transition to IFRS for our December 2023 year end. As you can imagine, statutory reporting is set to be a key focus of the Finance team going forward and you will have full responsibility for leading this effort.


You will manage the production of the monthly management accounts pack and compliance reporting with the support of a direct report and feed in from FP&A.


You will also manage the operational side of Finance, overseeing AP, AR, Treasury, Tax and developing our controls and processes in these areas so they match the needs of the business as we continue to grow.


Key responsibilities: 


  • Management of the month end close process and production of the management accounts pack
  • Management of the annual statutory accounts process in partnership with our external accountants
  • Management of the annual audit process
  • Lead the transition to IFRS and set up of initial US and Singaporean statutory reporting
  • Management of operational finance including AP
  • AR
  • Treasury
  • Expenses
  • Tax, including VAT
  • Development and implementation of policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Other ad hoc project work in conjunction with the FD, Head of FP&A and wider business

What skills, experience and qualifications we require: 


Must haves

  • ACA / CA / ACCA qualified with at least 1 year’s experience post-qualification
  • Previous experience of accounts preparation where this formed a core part of a prior role (either in practice or industry)
    • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to offer pragmatic accounting opinions backed up by reference to the relevant standards
  • Strong attention to detail in comparison to peers
  • Great written and verbal communications skills – can be relied on to work professionally with internal and external parties
  • Experience managing a direct report


Nice to haves

  • First-hand experience of Xero
  • Experience of other software: MS Dynamics, Power BI
  • Systems implementation or finance systems transformation experience
  • Experience producing consolidated accounts
  • Tax experience
