Senior Software Engineer – Platform

Location: London, UK

This role sits within the Platform team at FINBOURNE who are responsible for building, maintaining and scaling the platform that supports our industry-leading LUSID product.

 

We're looking to hire a developer with experience building scalable and performant software, who is excited by the idea of writing, supporting and maintaining globally distributed systems for the financial services industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-growing business and to contribute to the scaling of a platform from thousands to millions of users!

 

 

Key responsibilities:

• Optimising our current technology stack to improve performance and stability
• Maintaining and tuning our PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch clusters
• Develop our performance monitoring and testing suites to help us detect and mitigate performance issues
• Help design, inform and implement our scalability roadmap

 

 

What skills, experience and qualifications we require:

• We’re looking for C#/Java/C++ (or any strongly-type language) developers with experience writing high performant code. Ideally the candidate would have some experience with PostgreSQL (or other relational database).
• Most importantly we're looking for data driven engineers who have a keen interest in how technologies work under-the-hood.
• Our key technologies are C# (.NET Core) and a Postgres persistence layer, all hosted using Kubernetes on AWS.
• We also make use of other technologies where appropriate including Kafka, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ and Redis.
• As we work in an informal, agile environment we are also looking for candidates who are motivated and genuinely excited about what we do.
